ISLAMABAD, Oct 07 (APP): The Young Journalist Association (YJA) and Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) have joined hands to start a project on Digital Journalism for imparting latest skills to media persons facing downsizing and job cuts, to assist them overcome their financial challenges.
A meeting held between the leadership of YJA and PAFLA, through video link on Friday, discussed ways to address the financial challenges of working journalists and to identify sustainable ways where journalists could utilize their existing skills in a part time job.
PAFLA Chairman Ibrahim Amin, CEO Tufail Ahmed and VP Ghulam Rehman addressed the session and suggested several ways to facilitate the journalist community. They also stressed the need for organising exclusive programmes on digital skills development and freelancing for journalists across the country.
YJA President Muhammad Yousuf praised the efforts of the PAFLA and said the freelancers association was playing a vital role in digital skill development across the country. Both organizations agreed on initiating an exclusive project on Digital Journalism for YJA members in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
